Today we are 18 days away from the Tax Deadline of April 18th. WOW, Time sure has flown by! No, there will be no last-minute extending of the deadline by the IRS this year. Therefore, you either need to get your return filed or file for an extension.
Please remember filing for extension extends the time you have in which to file your completed return. It does not extend the time in which you have to pay any tax owe without incurring a penalty and /or interest. Filing an extension allows you until October 15th to file your completed return.
If you are not prepared to file your return by the 18th we recommend you file extension this will help prevent you from incurring a late filing penalty, if you owe tax. If you owe tax and don't file on time, there's also a penalty for not filing on time. The failure-to-file penalty is usually five percent of the tax owed for each month, or part of a month that your return is late, up to a maximum of 25%.
Therefore, it is very important you do something by the 18th. We can help with either filing your return or filing an extension. Please feel free to contact us. Below find a link to the IRS form 4868 and instructions if you want to file an extension;
