Tax Document Scanning Tips!

Hopefully by now you have received the majority, if not all your important tax documents. Including but not limited to, W-2’s, 1099’s and 1098 mortgage statements. Now you might be wondering what the best way is to get them to your tax preparer. Given our current situation, normal methods of document exchange such as physical delivery or via mail or email may not be the most efficient or secure method.
Did you know you have a secure and efficient method right in the palm of your hand? Literally if you are reading this on your phone, iPad or tablet, you can easily scan and forward your documents securely to the tax preparer without leaving your home or couch for that matter.
We have put together some quick and simple tips on how you can scan your documents from your iPhone or android smart phone. You will also see tips on how you can even sign documents from your device.

Using an iPhone:
1. Open Notes App and select a note or create a new one.
2. Tap the Camera icon.
3. Then tap Scan Documents.
4. Place your document in view of the camera.
5. Adjust corners and the app will then flatten out the image or images.
6. If you have multiple pages the app will place each scan into a group.
7. Tap save button.
8. All Documents are saved as a PDF in your Notes App
To share Scanned Documents:
1.Tap three dots in top right of phone.
2.Tap send a copy.
3. Select recipients and tap send.
Signing a document on your iPhone
1. Open Notes, then tap the document in the note.
2. Tap the Share button,
3. Then tap Markup.
4. Tap the button, then tap Signature and add a saved signature or create a new signature.

Using an Android Smart Phone or on iPhone:
1. Download Adobe Scan Mobile PDF Scanner a Free App.
2. Open App and grant all permissions to save document.
3. Tap Camera icon.
4. When all documents have been scanned tap document in bottom right corner.
5. Crop and reorder documents.
6. Tap save PDF in top right corner.
7. Share documents using any of the share buttons.
During these times we know everyone is looking for ways to save time on task that can sometimes seem very time consuming, overwhelming, or even stressful. We hope these quick and simple tips can help alleviate some stress and make the document exchange process easier.
